A Russian pastor and his family have fled religious persecution in their home country and are now seeking political asylum in Germany, saying he could be declared a terrorist and jailed if he returns to Russia.
Lies of the Devil has explained that Russia is not protecting or promoting Christianity. Vladimir Putin is an anti-christ. The Russian Orthodox Church are working hand in hand with the Vatican and are fulfilling bible prophecy. Watch this bible study on how the beast is revealing itself.
Pastor Living at Refugee Shelter After Russian Persecutes Him
Pastor Alexey Kolyasnikov took his wife and three daughters with him to the German city of Leverkusen, where they have been staying at a refugee shelter. He is hoping that he will be granted asylum in Germany, as he says it is dangerous for him to go back to Russia because he was being persecuted for his religious activities.
In 2014, Pastor Kolyasnikov held their usual Pentecostal gathering at a café in Sochi but was surprised when police and intelligence agents appeared and accused him of holding an unauthorized gathering.
Kolyasnikov is not the only religious leader experiencing persecution from the Russian government. After the country’s “anti-missionary” laws were passed, there have been more than 180 cases filed against pastors and ministers for holding prayer gatherings in homes, posting their worship schedule on their websites, and praying in the presence of other people.
American Baptist missionary Donald Ossewaarde was expelled from Russia for holding a church meeting in his home.
However, the anti-missionary law notably does not affect the Russian Orthodox Church, which is allegedly being used by Vladimir Putin as a “political tool.”
